Bio
Born and raised in Missouri, I quickly had an attraction for thunderstorms.

I'm not really sure when it all began. Even as a kid I would love to be outside and watch lightning, trying to make out things in the unique shapes it made. Perhaps it was when I was two years old and saw lightning strike a building next door to me (not that I remember this, but that's what I heard from my parents). And yes, that building burnt to the ground (too bad I didn't have a camera, eh? Photography by Fisher Price, haha)

However, the real fun began when I moved from Missouri to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Collins College. It was during Ray Bowen's photography class when I learned how to use an SLR camera to capture lightning (as well as learn a TON about photography, which got me hooked right there alone). And it was during that class when the Forth of July, a little thunderstorm, fireworks, and myself were all in one spot (see gallery, July 4th (Mesa,AZ) Stormseason 2001). This is where I got my first lightning on film (with camera, not video).

So it is today where I try to keep a balance of graphic design, primarily website layout and programming, photography (freelance and some on assignment/hire), and stormchasing in the summer months.

Some of my other interests (besides photography) include web design, bicycling, art, physics, gardening (stop laughing! I have to grow the flowers for my photos!), music (guitar, bass, piano and occasionally drums), and computer repair.

Future plans of mine include a trip back to Arizona (a vacation at least if not a more permanent solution) as well as starting my own photography studio. I want to convert at least one of my cars to run on water (orthohydrogen), which would make it the ultimate chase vehicle! That and I would save a ton not having to buy gas! So there's a storm coming across Amarillo? Not a problem!
